A weekend of play....

Carol and her son came visiting and stamping for the weekend. We USED tons of scraps this weekend - I think we only cut up full sheets to make the actual card itself! Here are some of the cards we made (after we finished sorting scraps!)....

We made 30 of these for my daughter's baby shower in January.

Carol's son is special-needs but loves to stamp. This was one of the cards we did with him. They went to this particular lighthouse this summer and he was in awe that there was actually a stamp to match! He also made fun that I colored mine RED! When mom asked him what color it really was he said, "PURPLE!" She just laughed....it's actually white and black.
Stamp Sets: Coast to Coast
Cardstock: Retired SU colors (not sure of what they are), Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Pure Color Pencils

This was the other card we made with Eric. He wanted to make one for his brother. They are close and only 10 months....yes you read it right...10 months apart. He learned this year to print his name so his mom wrote "Andy, Love U, Eric" on a piece of paper and he copied it on the inside of the card. He did such a good job! He colored his green, which is his nephew's favorite color.
Stamp Sets: Loads of Love
Cardstock: Retired SU (not sure of colors), Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Pure Color Pencils, Real Red SU Marker

Last but not least....Carol and Eric made this card for me. She used some of my retired cardstock so I am not 100% sure what the colors are. :)
Stamp Sets: Snow Bursts
Cardstock: Retired SU, Whisper White
Inks: Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue (I think!)
Accessories: Sponge, Blue Gingham Ribbon, Cuttlebug

Needless to say we had a blast. They arrived Friday afternoon and left early this morning.

Every Sunday they travel to her mom's house, take her out for brunch and then help her with housework and laundry. She has broken both ankles over the past two years and is not able to move up and down stairs freely.

It's great that Carol takes care of her mom like that. Not many people are that caring and considerate of others even their own family. My mom lives with us...my husband suggested that she move in with us when my sister left the state. She is great to have around most of the time. :-)

Well, I am off for the evening! Have to post these to Split Coast Stampers! Have a great night and watch for more interesting and fun things to come!
