Yesterday 's Christmas Card Making Day

We had a low showing yesterday...Crystal and myself, but some times small is better!

Crystal looked through some cards I had, stamp sets I had out and then on SCS to find a card she liked.  We did find one on SCS done by Arvwen to case.  The dimensions are different but the idea is all the same!

Frosty Stamp Set, Real Red and Whisper White cardstock, Real Red ribbon, Black gingham ribbon, misc punches, Pure Color pencils, Jet Black Stazon, Stickles, Shimmer Mist.

Here's the card I did...masculine to send to the troops!

A Cardinal Christmas Stamp Set, True Thyme, Cranberry Crisp, DPS, Whisper White cardsotck, Black Jet Stazon, Watercolor Crayons, Blender pen, True Thyme ribbon.

Onse she was done, she worked on the center pieces for their wedding reception next Sunday!

This weekend's cards. :)

I used Bells & Boughs for all three cards as this is a beginners
workshop and I wanted to show the versatility of one stamp set!
The pattern paper is Deck The Halls from the mini.

On this card I used the Smooch Moonlight
and the Illuminate Top Coat.

This card I used the Cobbler Seam Binding
and the Deck the Halls Big Buttons for the mini.

This card I used the Square Lattice embossing folder

Decorative Label Punch on Backorder

October 20, 2010

Beginning with the Holiday Mini preorder period, we have experienced a very high demand for our new Decorative Label Punch in the Holiday Mini Catalog. We knew this punch would be popular based on demonstrator research and had planned accordingly, placing numerous orders for this item to prepare for the Holiday Mini sales period.

Unfortunately, while we have thousands of these punches in production and in transit to our warehouse, our vendor has just informed us that they will not arrive as soon as we expected. Based on our current inventory levels, we expect to go into backorder starting today, October 20.

We recognize that this punch is not only in the Holiday Mini Catalog, but also part of our Handmade Holiday promotion that started October 19; we want to minimize the negative impact this situation will have on you and your customers, so we are implementing the following measures:

***We will continue to offer the Tags til Christmas Bundle as part of the Handmade Holiday promotion. This will allow your customers who still want the bundle to order it now and still receive 20 percent off. The Tags til Christmas Set will ship immediately and the Decorative Label Punch will ship as soon as we have the Decorative Label Punches in stock. This should especially help your hostesses so she doesn't lose out on orders while her guests wait until the bundle is available.

***As another option for customers, we have created an additional Tags Til Christmas Bundle that includes the Ornament Punch instead of the Decorative Label Punch. This bundle will be available throughout the promotion even when the Decorative Label Punch is no longer on backorder.

As of now, we are expecting shipments to arrive within the following timeframes:

* End of October
* First week of November
* Middle of November

Monday, January 25

We had such a blast on Saturday! It's been such a LONG time since we have been together...probably since May or June! Wow! This was Crystal's first time but she came thru like a real trooper! We have to give a hand to James who took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese's so we wouldn't have them (and him) under foot! LMBO

This is the card I made as a sample for the girls to make using the Build A Bear set from SU. The pattern paper is in the new Occassions mini in a HUGE pack of paper! The paper is so kewl! We used blender pens and watercolor pencils to color them in.

This one I showed how you can color with the pencil ON the paper and then use the blender pen to color it in. The other (the girl) I used the blender pen on the watercolor pencils instead.

We will be meeting again on February 13th at Diane's for a workshop. I am so excited as I have not had a workshop since last summer. I am ready and raring to go! Let's fill the calendar girls (and guys)!

Time for a New Year and a New Beginning!

This past year has been full of ups and downs, losses and finds. As I reflect on the year it has been a year of great changes and stresses.

I had my surgery on October 7 and lots of changes have taken place since. I ended up two days longer in the hospital and two pints of blood. When I was released my blood count was still way low but the surgeon wanted my body to make up what was missing rather than relying on blood transfusions. Almost four weeks out I got a bad wave of flu, eating hardly anything for that week, then followed that with two weeks of severe sinusitis, which also kept e from eating properly. The pastor and deacons got together the week before Thanksgiving and prayed over me, to stop the extreme weight loss and take away all the doubts , fears and illness that was plaguing my tired and worn out body. The very next day I felt great and have been ever since.

I have lost 71 pounds since my heaviest weight and 47 since my surgery. I also have lost 27 inches, dropping clothes sizes like crazy. I started going to the gym this week to begin the process of working out at least three times a week...and I have body parts that are so sore! LMBO But I know...no pain, no gain.

Anyhow, through all this I haven't made ONE card...and my stamp room became a storage room since Thanksgiving! So I need to take the time to clean it out so I can begin making swaps for the Michigan Mingles gathering in March! I think there are 50 spots or so. Not sure what set(s) I will use yet! I have some of the Sale-a-bration sets that will be arriving Monday!

So what's up with SU!? Check out my website and clink SHOP NOW. Both the Occasions Mini and SAB Mini are on line! And this year for SAB there is a list on the back page of the catalog where you can actually chose items from the regular catty!

Call or email me today to book your SAB workshop! Got the new sets coming and ready to get back on track once again!

Thanks for your patronage this past year and looking forward to your patronage in the year 2010!

CHRISTMAS PARTY WILL BE JANUARY 23 FROM 12-4 PM. BRING A GIFT TO EXCHANGE ($20 MAX) AND A SNACK TO SHARE. I WILL HAVE TWO PROJECTS FOR US TO MAKE!

Workshop cards from Saturday

These are the cards we made Saturday, September 19 at Joyce's (mom) workshop. :)

Sunday, December 7

Some cards I had been working on....and a few more to come!

Here are a couple of cards I have been working on for Christmas - a couple for Secret Santa/Rowdy Reindeer, one for my mom's Christmas cards. Not gonna say which is which! hehe

The Poinsettia stamp is not Stampin' Up! I picked it up at a local stamp store between Shipshewana and Middlebury.

Cute Little Purse Photo Books

I made three of these cute little photo books - great for a grandma to carry in her purse! So easy to make!

1. Take a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock and cut it into three equal parts (4").
2. Score each at 4 and 8"
3. Fold each and "work" in the folds.
4. Tape together one end of two of the sheets. This will give you five blocks in a row.
5. Tape the center block of the five to the center block of the one with three.
6. Cut your layering squares as follows: 3 3/4 x 3 3/4, 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.
7. You will find, as I did, the top squares will need to be cut 3 3/4 x 3 1/2, 3 1/2 x 3 1/4, 3 1/4 x 3 otherwise it will overlay the edges more because of the "binding" edges of the cover.
8. Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 16". Tape to front and back before applying the layers.
9. Taa daa! So quick and cute!

Have fun and let me know if you try this cute and easy little book for your family gift this year!

January Newsletter-Opening Statement

Oh, the Christmas season has come and gone. Hopefully your season was filled with the joy and love that Christ has to offer. We had a great family get-together the Sunday before Christmas and then a quiet Christmas morning with our live-in family.
This year will probably be the last year that Stephen believes in Santa Claus so we started a new tradition this year. We talked to him of the true reason behind the season…the birth of Christ. This morning we took turns reading from his bible Luke 2, the birth of Christ. Then he asked Papa to pray before opening gifts. It was a nice touch before the chaos of the day started! :o) The guys are playing Battleship and the house is filled with laughter! :o)
