I used Bells & Boughs for all three cards as this is a beginners 

workshop and I wanted to show the versatility of one stamp set!  

The pattern paper is Deck The Halls from the mini.

On this card I used the Smooch Moonlight 

and the Illuminate Top Coat.  

This card I used the Cobbler Seam Binding 

and the Deck the Halls Big Buttons for the mini.

This card I used the Square Lattice embossing folder, 

Clear Tinsel and Platinum Shimmer Paint.

Decorative Label Punch on Backorder

October 20, 2010

Beginning with the Holiday Mini preorder period, we have experienced a very high demand for our new Decorative Label Punch in the Holiday Mini Catalog. We knew this punch would be popular based on demonstrator research and had planned accordingly, placing numerous orders for this item to prepare for the Holiday Mini sales period.


Unfortunately, while we have thousands of these punches in production and in transit to our warehouse, our vendor has just informed us that they will not arrive as soon as we expected. Based on our current inventory levels, we expect to go into backorder starting today, October 20.

We recognize that this punch is not only in the Holiday Mini Catalog, but also part of our Handmade Holiday promotion that started October 19; we want to minimize the negative impact this situation will have on you and your customers, so we are implementing the following measures:


***We will continue to offer the Tags til Christmas Bundle as part of the Handmade Holiday promotion. This will allow your customers who still want the bundle to order it now and still receive 20 percent off. The Tags til Christmas Set will ship immediately and the Decorative Label Punch will ship as soon as we have the Decorative Label Punches in stock. This should especially help your hostesses so she doesn't lose out on orders while her guests wait until the bundle is available.


***As another option for customers, we have created an additional Tags Til Christmas Bundle that includes the Ornament Punch instead of the Decorative Label Punch. This bundle will be available throughout the promotion even when the Decorative Label Punch is no longer on backorder.


As of now, we are expecting shipments to arrive within the following timeframes:

Workshop Cards

It's been a while since I've shared! I have been so busy it seems and then I got sick this past weekend. :( Ran a fever of 102 for three days, sinus infection, coughing...you name it! I am finally feeling just okay...still some coughing and headache but not as bad as earlier this week!

These are cards we have done at the last couple of workshops.

This one we used Platinum Shimmer Paint and sponge daubers....really cool way to accent any card!

I will need to take pictures of the last few cards that I have made. They were going to be for the May Fabulous Flower stamp camp. Things just didn't work out for the stamp camp though but I had already done the cards. :) If I have time I will post those tomorrow! HUFFING: When you use markers on your stamps they tend to dry out. So you hold the stamp to your mouth and breath (or huff) onto the ink to moisten it. :)

2 STEP STAMPING: Some SU! sets require 2 step stamping in which you stamp with one stamp and then stamp over the top with a "outline" stamp to add dimension.

November Mini VSN Entries

Last night was mini VSN for November. What fun and the challenges were great.

Challenge #1 ~ Totally Tubular ~ For this challenge, use your favorite lipstick colors on your card – corals, pinks, reds, burgundies, bronzes, if it comes in a tube at the drugstore, you can use it on your card or project!

Challege #2 ~ SCS Enabler's Challenge ~ For this challenge you had to take the things you HAD to get because you saw them in the SCS gallery or people were raving about them and make a card using them.

Challenge #3 ~ Table Made Pretty ~ This was my challenge! The challenge was to create a table setting, consisting of a table place card, napkin ring and a mini menu or schedule for your event!

Challenge #4 ~ You Scratch My Back ~ For this challenge you had to make a card using the Faux Linen technique.

The next VSN will be December 5th (yep a Wednesday night) at 7 pm.

11/11/07 Color Challenge #3

I was looking for something different and I think I found it! Not Quite Navy is NOT one of my fav colors. I hardly ever use it so I decided to make myself use it for this challenge.

Colors are Groovy Guava, Not Quite Navy, Summer Sun and Very Vanilla (or Whisper White).

Stamp Sets: Garden Collage
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Groovy Guava, Not Quite Navy, Summer Sun
Ink: Not Quite Navy

Shaving Cream Technique

1. Put shaving cream on a plate or cookie sheet.
2. Place just a few drops of reinker into the shaving cream.
3. Gently stir - do not over stir or the inks will become muddied.
4. Place a piece of glossy cardstock into the shaving cream and "squish" it down.
   
5. Remove the cardstock and scrap off excess shaving cream.
   
6. Wipe and layer as needed.

Oct. VSN Mini Challenges

Challenge #1 - A Drive & A Double Dog Dare - The Sistah Hostess posted a list of places to send cards to for several good causes. I made this card for Operation Quiet Comfort (get-well cards signed with positive personal note to wounded U.S. troops in 35 combat support hospitals served by non-profit organization).

Challenge #2 - Sketch Challenge - The Sistah Hostess posted a sketch of a card layout and we were to create a card following the sketch.

Sketch #3 - Time for a Martini - The Sistah Hostess gave us this saying to influence our card. Since I didn't own the stamp I made it on my computer along with the martini glass. :o) Everyone liked the "marinated crab"! LOL

Challenge #4 - Abundant Supply - The Sistah Hostess gave us the challenge of using 2 stamped images, 4 layers, 6 colors and 8 embellishments! The hardest part was the embellishments!
