Blog Candy winner is .....

Rosella! I have already emailed her to congratulate her. Please come back soon for some more blog candy! :o)

Later tonight I will post my color challenge card along with a pic of the blog candy that Rosella has won....if I am feeling better. I got up Thanksgiving morning with a sinus headache. Now my head is throbbing, my ears sound like I have shells tied on my head (roaring), a sore throat and a dry cough! Been drugging myself up big time all weekend. Luckily it has not went to my chest!

Okay...so I myself am a week behind! (Posted 12.02.07) :) I have been sick since Thanksgiving and then my daughter has been in the hospital four days this week and they did outpatient surgery at 3 pm yesterday. She is home now and hopefully will not have to go back to the hospital before the baby is due!

Makaya's Special Day

My great-niece is celebrating her birthday this week. We are hosting her party today. Why is this a special day? She was born with poly hydrops and they didn't think she was going to make it. She had surgery at 2 weeks, was in the hospital for three months and was off and on the vent for almost two months of that three months. Today she is a bright, smiling
little girl who you would never had guessed had been so ill. She truly is our $2 million baby!
I made this name frame for her using Friends & Flowers Simply Scrapping Kit, Headline Alphabets, Certainly Celery-Pumpkin Pie-Tempting Turquoise Inks, Pomegranate-Celery-Mustard Ribbons. (Picture is not very good...too yellow but was the best I could get it...not sure why!)

November Mini VSN Entries

Last night was mini VSN for November. What fun and the challenges were great.

Challenge #1 ~ Totally Tubular ~
For this challenge, use your favorite lipstick colors on your card – corals, pinks, reds, burgundies, bronzes, if it comes in a tube at the drugstore, you can use it on your card or project!

Challege #2 ~ SCS Enabler's Challenge ~ For this challenge you had to take the things you HAD to get because you saw them in the SCS gallery or people were raving about them and make a card using them.

Challenge #3 ~ Table Made Pretty ~ This was my challenge! The challenge was to create a table setting, consisting of a table place card, napkin ring and a mini menu or schedule for your event!

Challenge #4 ~ You Scratch My Back ~ For this challenge you had to make a card using the Faux Linen technique.

The next VSN will be December 5th (yep a Wednesday night) at 7 pm.

11/11/07 Color Challenge #3

I was looking for something different and I think I found it! Not Quite Navy is NOT one of my fav colors. I hardly ever use it so I decided to make myself use it for this challenge.

Colors are Groovy Guava, Not Quite Navy, Summer Sun and Very Vanilla (or Whisper White).

Stamp Sets: Garden Collage
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Groovy Guava, Not Quite Navy, Summer Sun
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Groovy Guava-Not Quite Navy-Summer Sun refills, Groovy Guava double stitch ribbon, shaving cream

Shaving Cream Technique
  1. Put shaving cream on a plate or cookie sheet.
  2. Place just a few drops of reinker into the shaving cream.
  3. Gently stir - do not over stir or the inks will become muddied.
  4. Place a piece of glossy cardstock into the shaving cream and "squish" it down.
  5. Remove the cardstock and scrap off excess shaving cream.
  6. Wipe and layer as needed.

November Mini VSN

Splitcoaststampers in hosting a November Mini VSN this coming Saturday (11.10.07) and I have the privilege of being a hostess this month! I have been working on my items today...but I can't share them with you until Saturday night! :o) I know...I shouldn't tease.

Had a great weekend though. Carol came down Thursday night and we spent Friday doing girl things. We went to Middlebury to Das Dutchman Essenhaus for lunch and shopping. We then visited a local stamp shop near there (half way between Middlebury and Shipshewana). After we visited Menno-Hof which is an old barn and house that has been renovated into a local "museum" type thing that explains the history of the Mennonites. Carol was overwhelmed by the info there. This was my 2nd visit and there was more that I learned too. After that we headed to the Blue Gate Restaurant, had dinner with the "Super 60's" group from the Sturgis Missionary Church and watched the "Chuck Wagon Gang". What an awesome way to end the day with southern gospel. Saturday morning we got up, went to breakfast with the ladies from the church, came home and stamped. I will upload those cards tomorrow if I get the chance. :o)

11/4/07 Sketch Challenge #3

Here is this bi-monthly's sketch challenge. Winner will receive an assortment of embellishments. Please post your sketch challenge card on your website and leave the link to your sample in your comment on this post. I will be posting my sample later. Gotta get ready for church now! :) Hubby is on the worship team and they meet early on Sunday mornings.

One thing I am going to change. You can enter any of my challenges within the two weeks since it is bi-weekly. This will give you a chance to get the challenge done, uploaded and leave your comments here. :) November 18th deadline.

Thanks for playing and good luck!
